Marketing Assistant - Part-time
The United Methodist Youth Home is seeking a motivated individual to excel as a part-time Marketing & Development Assistant (M&D Assistant).
The M&D Assistant will take part in the exciting and fulfilling work of helping build awareness for a ministry that’s changing lives every day! They will report to the Director of Development and be focused on updating our website, creating and updating content for our social media channels; interacting with donors, volunteers and other stakeholders; finding creative ways to engage donors online; and assisting in implementing development strategies to raise support, among other duties. This person will also work with our External Affairs Committee to help plan and carry out a marketing campaign.
We offer a flexible schedule with this position, that will at times include evening and weekends. The position is for around 20 hours per week.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Maintain and Update the UMYH website
- Create content for distribution across social media, eNews blasts, church update blurbs, and district newsletters
- Assist in creating content for and editing the quarterly newsletter
- Prepare media kits
- Work with External Affairs Committee to plan and carry out an external marketing campaign
- Assist in management of online giving
- Assist in preparing donor thank you letters
- Collaborate with entire UMYH team to gather information to share through various mediums and with the Development team to ensure cohesion of messages and branding across platforms
- Assist in fundraising
- Assist in identifying grant opportunities
- Assist in donor database upkeep
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills
- Familiarity with social media strategies and platforms
- Strong verbal communication and writing skills
- A team player with a positive attitude
- Ability to multi-task, take initiative, and meet deadlines a must
- Passion for our mission of helping at-risk youth become productive and responsible members of society
- Experience with web design a huge plus
- Experience with content creation a plus
- Experience with WordPress web design a huge plus

Residential Counselor - Part Time
We currently have a need for qualified candidates for the Residential Counselor position for second and third shifts. A Residential Counselor provides support and supervision of our youth throughout the course of all daily programming activities. Employees must be 21 years of age, able to pass a criminal background check and drug test, and have a valid driver’s license. Responsibilities include:
- Being a positive role model.
- Teaching appropriate behavior.
- Teaching appropriate social skills and life skills.
- Participating in daily programming activities.
- Helping the youth achieve their treatment goals.
Qualifications and Skills
Qualifications Required: High School Diploma. This is excellent experience for recent or soon-to-be COLLEGE GRADUATES who are seeking an entry-level position into the Social Service Field. Pay commensurate with education and experience. Second and Third shifts available.
