  • Director of Development - FULL TIME

    As Director of Development, you’ll take on the rewarding work of raising awareness for our programs through engaging marketing, developing and maintaining relationships in the community, and most importantly securing resources necessary for programs to grow and thrive.

    Job Description:

    The Director of Development reports directly to the Executive Director and will be responsible for overseeing a team of capable team members including: Development Assistant, Grants Manager, and Marketing Assistant.

    Duties of the Director of Development include, but are not limited to:

    • Promote the organization by:
    • Developing and implementing a comprehensive plan to promote the organization to its donors and maximize public awareness of mission and fundraising activities.
    • Build relationships with community stakeholders to advance the mission and fundraising goals of the organization.
    • Making presentations at community events, churches, and local business venues.
    • Creating and managing special events, including, but not limited to groundbreaking and ribbon cutting ceremonies.
    • Oversee the Development Department by:
    • Working with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors to determine the vision for the department.
    • Maintaining annual Development Plan, setting goals and plans for department and team
    • Maintaining a financial dashboard to track success of department initiatives.
    • Ensuring the administration of Bloomerang, the donor database.
    • Overseeing the fundraising and marketing materials.
    • Overseeing the management of website and social media.
    • Overseeing all grant writing and submission.
    • Develop major gifts by:
    • Identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major donors.
    • Monitoring on-going and consistent contact with major donors.
    • Maintaining a detailed record of all contacts (phone calls, meetings, etc.) with donors, including date of contact, who was present, and what was discussed.
    • Telling UMYH’s story to generate and justify the need for community support.
    • Design and produce all fundraising and marketing materials
    • Monitor trends in the community and adapt fundraising strategies as necessary.
    • Respecting the privacy and confidentiality of donor information.
    • Attend and participate in the following meetings:
    • Leadership Team meetings
    • External Affairs Committee meetings
    • Board Meetings
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Working Conditions

    • Includes travel by automobile throughout Indiana.
    • Requires working some evenings and weekends.

    Job Standards:

    • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations, or related field.
    • Must be at least 21 years of age.
    • At least 2 years of experience in fundraising, public relations, or marketing is preferred.
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Pass pre-employment health & drug screen as well as Child Services related background checks.

    Critical Skills/Expertise:

    • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
    • Public speaking in a professional setting.
    • Experience in donor tracking software.
    • Capable of working independently and as a team member.
    • Adequate walking, sitting, and standing skills.
    • Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks so that all deadlines are met.
    • Reading, writing, and reasoning skills necessary to understand information in regards to financial data, donor tracking data, etc.
    • Agility, able to handle wins, challenges, and disappointments in a professional way while balancing the needs of the team and various changes in priorities.
    • Perseverance, able to handle personal or job difficulties without interfering with peers.
    • Ability to understand, implement, and assist with marketing strategies and their development.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $55,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year

  • Therapist- FULL TIME

    We are seeking a full-time therapist to provide diagnostic assessments, individual therapy, and group therapy to youth in one of our group homes in our residential treatment program. Employees must be 21 years of age, able to pass a criminal background check and drug test, and have a valid driver’s license. Responsibilities include:

    • Perform assessments and collect diagnostic information to create treatment plans for individual youth.
    • Provide individual and group therapy to youth participating in the program.
    • Provide family therapy to youth and their family.
    • Treat crisis situations as needed.

    Work with youth on developing:

    • Healthy, effective coping skills
    • Conflict resolution skills
    • Anger management skills
    • Symptom management (PTSD, ODD, Anxiety, Depression, AD/HD, etc.
    • Psychoeducation
    • Impulse control skills
    • Improved self-esteem and self-worth
    • Improved compliance with authority figures

    Qualifications Required: Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field. MSW/LSW required. Must be working toward obtaining LCSW: LCSW supervision provided. TF-CBT certification a plus.

  • Residential Group Home Manager- FULL TIME

    We currently have a need for qualified candidates for the Group Home Manager position. A Group Home Manager oversees hiring, training, and provides support to our Residential Counselors. Employees must be 21 years of age, able to pass a criminal background check and drug test, and have a valid driver’s license. The Group Home Manager is on-call on a rotating basis. Responsibilities include:

    • Being a positive role model.
    • Teaching appropriate behavior.
    • Support Residential Counselors in providing appropriate treatment for the youth residing the group home
    • Maintain Residential Counselors’ schedule
    • Oversee all treatment components of the program in the group homes
    • Oversee all group homes’ written records
    • Oversee housekeeping standards in the group home

    Qualifications Required: Bachelor’s Degree in social services field and 2 years of experience in a professional capacity in a professional capacity in a setting that serves children. Pay commensurate with education and experience.

  • Residential Counselor - PART TIME | FULL TIME

    We currently have a need for qualified candidates for the Residential Counselor position for second and third shifts. A Residential Counselor provides support and supervision of our youth throughout the course of all daily programming activities. Employees must be 21 years of age, able to pass a criminal background check and drug test, and have a valid driver’s license. Responsibilities include:

    • Being a positive role model.
    • Teaching appropriate behavior.
    • Teaching appropriate social skills and life skills.
    • Participating in daily programming activities.
    • Helping the youth achieve their treatment goals.

    Qualifications and Skills

    Qualifications Required: High School Diploma. This is excellent experience for recent or soon-to-be COLLEGE GRADUATES who are seeking an entry-level position into the Social Service Field. Pay commensurate with education and experience. Second and Third shifts available.

  • Day Treatment Instructor- PART TIME

    We currently have a need for qualified candidates for the Day Treatment Instructor  position for Monday-Friday first shift. Employees must be 21 years of age, able to pass a criminal background check and drug test, and have a valid driver’s license. Responsibilities are to-

    Continuously supervise, monitor and participate in the daily activities of the students including the following:

    • Academic Achievement – Follow policy and procedures for curriculum.
    • Independent Living Skills Group and Cognitive Skills Group– Follow programming materials provided by Day Treatment Director.
    • Recreational Activities – Follow policy and procedures for taking students off grounds and maintain supervision.

    Keep written records, including:

    • Maintain complete and accurate daily records including, behavioral sheets, independent living skills forms, cognitive skills group form, and academic achievement form, and infractions.
    • Providing information to Day Treatment Director for the development of treatment plans, progress reports and discharge reports.
    • Complete Incident Reports.

    Assist students individually by:

    • Participate in implementing individual treatment plans.
    • Maintaining appropriate boundaries.
    • Serving as a role model.
    • Managing crisis situations.
    • Providing guidance.
    • Providing positive feedback.

    Critical Skills:

    • Ability to effectively cope with frustration, anger, frequent change in plans, prioritize assignments and coordinate with other staff members.
    • Ability to effectively cope with personal or job stress without interfering with student relationships.
    • Verbal communication skills in order to interact with other staff members.
    • Ability to understand information in students records as required to carry out treatment plans.
    • Observation skills.
