Once upon a time,

in a land before COVID, the United Methodist Youth Home planned on building the new girls home. Now, thanks to a miracle, UMYH plans to break ground on Sunday, September 26th, 2021 at 2 o’clock in the afternoon. The new Girls Home features 8 rooms with a capacity for 8 young ladies. Thanks to the support of our community, we are able to make this dream into a reality & build another safe space for these young ladies to become responsible & productive members of the community!

Join us on Sunday, September 26th at 2P to be a part of the happily ever after!

After a year delay and a rise in the cost of building supplies due to the pandemic, the wait is finally over!

You are cordially invited to the United Methodist Youth Home on Sunday, September 26, 2021 at 2P for our Girls Home Groundbreaking Ceremony!

Come be part of the start of the happily ever after by beginning construction on another safe space for at-risk girls in our community. We would love your presence on campus for this long-awaited event.

To allow us to plan the event accordingly, we ask that you RSVP by clicking the button below! If you have any questions, contact Kelley T. at kltenbarge@umyh.com.

We are taking the safety of our staff and youth very seriously and are following the CDC recommendations. At this time, we will be holding the event in person, but if you are not comfortable or if it becomes unsafe, we will also be streaming the event on Facebook Live!

Girl’s Home

In 2018, we set out to begin campaigning for a new girls home. This new home will be very similar to Holder Home, the boys home on campus, with a few minor layout changes. The new home will serve 8 girls, giving them their own individual rooms, a safe room with back up generators, living area, dining/kitchen area, and two full bathrooms. The current girls home, Pathways, will be remodeled to become a semi-independent living program for young ladies that are about to transition back into the community on their own, due to not having any family or not having a host home to leave our facility to go to.

When the pandemic stopped the world in 2020, it required us to refocus our efforts on the youth who were on our campus and set us back in our building plans. However, with the help of the community and our donors, we have continued to work  diligently to close the gap of the funds needed!

Thanks to our amazing community supporters and donors, we can finally begin the build and break ground on September 26, 2021!
