Girl’s Home

On Sunday, September 26th, UMYH officially broke ground for the new Girls Home!

During the ceremony we were honored to have Bishop Trimble in attendance and the heartfelt testimony that he gave on UMYH.

Also, we had the opportunity of hearing from one of our youth who had been living at UMYH for over 2 years and spoke on part of her journey, along with all of those in attendance celebrating her 18th birthday.

We would like to thank all of the guests who attended the event in person and for those who watched the live stream via Facebook. Your support shows our youth how much they mean to the community and that you want them to succeed, just like we do.

We will continue to keep you updated on the construction and be on the lookout for the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony, which should take place in the spring of 2022!

THANK YOU to Compass Financial Group for sponsoring the groundbreaking event!

Also, THANK YOU to all of the community members and organizations who gathered together to help us not only pull off an amazing event from start to finish, but helped clean up and prepare the campus for our guests prior to the day of the Groundbreaking Ceremony!

We appreciate all of you and we couldn’t do what we do at UMYH without your support!

In 2018, we set out to begin campaigning for a new girls home. This new home will be very similar to Holder Home, the boys home on campus, with a few minor layout changes. The new home will serve 8 girls, giving them their own individual rooms, a safe room with back up generators, living area, dining/kitchen area, and two full bathrooms. The current girls home, Pathways, will be remodeled to become a semi-independent living program for young ladies that are about to transition back into the community on their own, due to not having any family or not having a host home to leave our facility to go to.

When the pandemic stopped the world in 2020, it required us to refocus our efforts on the youth who were on our campus and set us back in our building plans. However, with the help of the community and our donors, we continued to work diligently to close the gap for the needed funds!

Now that the ground has been broken, we would like to thank our amazing community supporters and donors for allowing us to begin building this new addition to UMYH!
