The First Swing: Our Demolition Watch Party Kicks Off the Capital Campaign!

If you heard a crash and felt the ground shake, don’t worry—it was just the sound of progress!

Our Demolition Watch Party was a massive success, and the energy was incredible! We celebrated together as the excavator took down the old Transitions Building, officially kicking off our Capital Campaign for the new UMYH Health & Wellness Center.

The old structure is gone, making way for a modern, welcoming facility designed entirely for the future of our youth. This campaign isn’t just about a structure; it’s a vital investment in the holistic well-being of every young person we serve.

The new UMYH Health & Wellness Center will be a hub for healing, development, and support, housing:

  • Dedicated wellness spaces for both physical activity and emotional learning. This includes exercise equipment and therapeutic tools like sensory swings, therapy balls, and mindful movement tools to teach essential regulation skills.

  • Essential offices for our staff such as the Wellness Coordinator and nurse to provide critical one-on-one support.

  • A streamlined intake process, including a larger room to handle youth’s belongings quickly, fostering a sense of dignity and comfort from their very first day.

The design prioritizes natural light, flexible spaces, and an inviting atmosphere to show our youth that they deserve a space built with excellence.

Join the Momentum

The demolition was loud, and our vision for the future is even louder. This is the official start of our effort to create a center of hope, health, and belonging for the next generation.

Want to see the blueprints and follow every step of our journey?

Thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating this massive first step. We look forward to building the future with you!
