HISTORY
United Methodist Youth Home Opens
UMYH opened its doors in 1979 providing shelter and more for at-risk women and children.
Day Education Program Starts
In September 2010 Juvenile Court Judge Brett Niemeier suggested the Day Education program for youth in the community that dropped out of school or struggling with traditional high school.
Truancy Intervention Services Start
Due to the increasing number of youth in Vanderburgh and Warrick counties who were experiencing truancy issues, we began our Truancy Intervention Services in September of 2013.
Holder Home Opens
Named after long time and influential employee Linda Holder, we opened the new boys home in 2018. With 8 bedrooms, each boy gets his own room.
UMYH turns 40
Proclamation Day at UMYH was on February 8, 2019 to celebrate 40 years serving our community!
New Beginnings Opens
New Beginnings Girls' Home was completed in September 2022. In this new space, 8 girls are able to have their own room as well as all the necessities of home.
