Under general supervision of the Accounting & HR Manager the HR Coordinator shall:

  1. Be familiar with all UMYH’s administrative policies and procedures.
  2. Display a high level of confidentiality.
  3. Well-informed in HR compliance and regulations.
  4. Experience with Employee Benefit and Cobra Administration
  5. Experience with managing HRIS system and processing payroll.
  6. Post available job openings, provide new employee onboarding including drug screens, administer all applicable background checks on new hires.
  7. Create and maintain Personnel Files.
  8. Create employee profiles in self-serve payroll portal and Apricot.
  9. Experience using Abode Acrobat to create digital forms and experience using spreadsheets.
  10. Maintain staff calendar and ensure that all state required backgrounds checks, physicals, TB test, CPR certification, and required training are completed in a timely manner.
  11. Audit time sheets and PTO requests
  12. Monitor employee paid leave days and extended illness hours.

Job Requirements:

  1. Minimum of a High School Diploma.
  2. Must be at least 21 years of age.
  3. Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in Human Resources.
  4. Valid driver’s license.
  5. Pass a pre-employment drug screen.
  6. Pass a motor vehicle records check.
  7. Pass a pre-employment physical and TB skin test.
  8. Pass a Child Protective Services check.
  9. Pass a National Sex and Violent Offenders Registry check.
  10. Pass a criminal background check.

Critical Skills/Expertise:

  1. Ability to answer the phone in a clear and pleasant voice that can be easily understood. 
  2. Computer skills.
  3. Capable of working independently and as a team member.
  4. Maintain a non-discriminatory policy in all areas of practice regardless of race, color, age, religion, national or ethnic origin, sexual orientation, physical handicap, political belief or veteran status.
  5. Adequate walking, sitting, and standing skills.
  6. Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks so that all deadlines are met.
  7. Reading, writing, and reasoning skills necessary to understand information in employee records as required to properly file and organize documents.
  8. Communication skills necessary to work with various populations including at-risk youth, parents, and other professionals.
  9. Ability to handle frustration, frequent change of plans, prioritization of assignments, and coordination with other employees.
