There was plenty to celebrate at this year's Annual Block Party! Friends, families, staff, supporters, and community members gathered on campus for an afternoon filled with fun, fellowship, and an exciting milestone—the grand opening of our new Diane Schroeder Health and Wellness Center.
The day got off to a memorable start as gusty winds challenged our setup crew, sending a few balloons on an unexpected journey. Thankfully, the weather soon gave way to a beautiful summer afternoon, creating the perfect setting for our celebration.
The event began with Executive Director Kelly Salee welcoming guests and sharing a speech honoring Diane Schroeder, whose generosity and commitment have made a lasting impact on the youth we serve by helping open our Health and Wellness Center. Following the presentation, everyone gathered for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, officially opening the Diane Schroeder Health and Wellness Center and celebrating a new space dedicated to the health and well-being of the youth we serve.
Once the ribbon was cut, the campus came alive with activities for all ages. Guests enjoyed gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, cool snow cones, face painting, and visits with local first responders. Laughter filled the air as families reconnected, friends visited, and community members toured the new building and learned more about our mission.
For our youth, the day was especially meaningful. They were able to welcome family members to campus, spend time together, and proudly show them around their home and the new Health and Wellness Center. Judging by the smiles—and the number of snow cones and cookies enjoyed—it was a day they won't soon forget.
Events like our Annual Block Party are about more than just having fun. They remind us of the incredible community that surrounds our organization and the many people who believe in investing in the lives of the youth we serve. We are grateful to everyone who attended, volunteered, and helped make the day such a success.
Thank you to those who celebrated with us. We can't wait to see everyone again at next year's Block Party!
