There are some people who make a difference simply by showing up—and then there are people who make a difference in everything they do. For UMYH, Jascie Gish is one of those people.
This October, we are proud to recognize Jascie, our Care Coordinator, as our Employee of the Month.
Jascie has been part of the UMYH team for six years, and throughout that time, she has made a lasting impact on the youth, staff, and community partners she works with. In fact, Jascie is one of those names that seems to bring an immediate smile when mentioned around UMYH. Ask someone about her, and chances are they will have something positive to say.When coworkers were asked to describe Jascie in just three words, the responses were dedicated, impactful, and compassionate. Those words truly capture the heart of who she is and the way she approaches her work.
As a Care Coordinator, Jascie wears many hats. She helps youth navigate school programs and works to set them up for success. She is there to cheer them on during court proceedings, advocate for their needs, and provide support when things get difficult. But sometimes, her most important role is simply being someone who will listen.
Jascie brings passion and compassion to every one of those moments.And while coworkers can tell you about the impact she has on the team, the youth she serves can tell the story even better.

“Jascie, you gave me all the answers and I’m so grateful for you. Thank you.”
Another youth said:
“She treats people like they are actual human beings and not just patients she’s paid to fix.”
Those words say so much about Jascie's approach. She doesn't simply see a case file, a situation, or a task that needs to be completed. She sees a young person who deserves to be heard, respected, encouraged, and supported.
That kind of connection can make all the difference.
Outside of UMYH, Jascie enjoys spending time with her fiancé, bonus son, and two dogs. When she's not making an impact at work, she loves playing games, watching movies, baking, reading, and traveling with her little family.
After six years, Jascie's impact can be seen not only in the work she does, but in the relationships she has built and the people who know they can count on her.
